Just a place to throw around some ideas I've been having. Hopefully you people will come by and leave me your opinions. Smile

--An Indigo Feather spin-off #1

This idea was floating around in my head when I wrote the last chapter of book one, and this won't be written for awhile, but I was thinking... It'd be kinda cool to write some short story or novella about Tovin as his new form. Basically he's a ghost enslaved to do the family's bidding for an eternity. Maybe he comes under the control of one of Dane's distant, distant relatives and they become romantically inclined. It'd be sad...

I was thinking that too when I read the end, since you left it as the end of "Book 1" hinting that a Book 2 and so one were to come in the future.

You could probabaly do well with the idea, although I think that would just make me feel sad for Tovin, since he was seduced by his own ambitions and passions (I keep seeing him being confused about why he's punished 'cause he doesn't rememebr the emotions, or something like that). .

To see him tortured would just make me sad, regardless if he deserved it or not. I actually wanted you to kill him off so I didn't have to think about him.

It's not a nice fate; trapped forever without hope and watch time fly by. *shudders* It's like being awake during open heart surgery and not being able to move or anything, or something like that.

So basically, it's a good idea, but it's angsty, so I would feel bad, but that's just my personal opinion.

I'm sure there are people who want to read about Tovin getting what he deserves.

Haha, well, I don't dwell on angst unless I have a point, so I don't think it'd be that angsty. Actually I was thinking Tovin might become some kind of dark or anti-hero. Will he ever get any love? Dunno. There's a possibility. Maybe he finds a way and is biding his time for the right lan to release him. Smile

Idea #2 - Temporary title: "The Jester's Fools"

I just thought of this last week...

Main character is a young boy (either 13-15) and he is not of royal blood, but he is the next in line to be ruler of a powerful kingdom. The current ruling king and queen are an elderly couple. They basically took him out of a dodgy orphanage and have been putting him through grueling tests ever since. Proper speech, etiquette, and movement - the boy must become Grace incarnate, a master of languages, and know the beginnings of strategy in at least three months. One day he is with his "parents" and has been standing all day, his slippered feet are killing him and he yearns to shift his weight, but dares not. Suddenly he hears a voice beside his ear, melodious and crooning, it says that the trick is to shift without looking like he is moving. Hands grip his waist and nudge him forward a bit without moving from his position. The boy looks over his shoulder and finds a young man of perhaps seventeen, dressed in sparkling robes of midnight blue and royal purple. The king and queen are pleased to see this man and the boy learns that he is Jest, their head mage, advisor, and oddly enough, their court jester.

Of course the boy and Jest have a sensual relationship, though when he's 18. He grows up to have a love/hate attitude for Jest. Jest plays everyone, never sincere and always with his own agenda. Even during sex, he knows that Jest has something else he is striving for every time they are together.

Will he become a foolish toy like his benefactors, or will he escape Jester's
spell?

Oh, that idea seems interesting. Is this a one-shot? I admit that I would want the joker to be, I don't know, faithful in the end I suppose. Or maybe, the main character DOES manage to break away from Jest and resists him throughout his rule over the kingdom. Or somehting like that.

Idea #3

Just something I woke up with.

Control (Working title)

Austin (maybe name-change) is a 22 year-old guy who is in a wheelchair. He finally moves out of his parents' house and finally has his mother picking a person to pay to live and take care of him. Enter James. Tall, blonde and with a killer smile. He is everything Austin's been looking for, a person who knows what they're doing and won't encroach on his own schedule. Though after awhile he starts having a crush on James, Austin says and does nothing that might jeapordize their friendship. James makes the first move. They start going out, mainly this is a sexual relationship. However, everything is not all roses and candy corn. James starts with little things: having Austin go on a strict diet, change style of clothing and change his schedule around to fit better his needs. Then he becomes more physical and if Austin disobeys him in any way, their bedroom activity becomes almost violent. Austin does not know what to do. Though he tells James constantly, he honestly doesn't love him. He is scared to break things off, but more so of the fact that if he severs ties with James, he will have to drop his college semester, lose his house and move back in with his parents. Enter Jared (name-change possible). He is a guy Austin knows through other friends. He is everything James is not. Realistic, black-humored and hardly smiles, unless a sarcastic smirk counts. He and Austin are friends right away but later Jared decides to pursue him. By then Austin is suspicious of everyone's ulterior motives. Later they start an affair of sorts, but Austin feels like he is in an actual relationship. Soon he realizes that juggling school, social life, an abusive boyfriend and having an affair with a guy he might really love will probably be the end of him.

Well, that sounds complicated. Before getting into the emotional stuff, I want to know more about Austins' hand-cap.

Is he stuck in a wheel chair for the rest of his life, or is it just a temperary. As well, does he have feelings in his lower half of his body, does James have to support the majority of weight during sex, etc.

I suppose the "nice guy" Jared would be okay to save him from the strainful relationship with James. I hope there's not too much angst and such though. More like a happy ending.

So Jared would be James opposite for the mosty part, right? And for the affair, how would that work out anyways. Is Austin still in the wheelchair?

Well, anwyays, it seems interesting. I like the idea of even physcially hand0capped people gettin' some lovin'; there's something so romantic about someone unable to run from his pursuer and to be whisked off and such Smile
