I don't know if this counts, but there's an author who pirmarily does fanfiction stories about Seifer/Squall from the video game Final Fantasy VIII. And there are a lot of Alternate Reality stories, so I think people who aren't very familair with the game can still read the stories.

As well, there are a few tasteful original fiction stories.

The only critism I have is that they update VERY slowly, but I'm sure they have their own reasons, so I don't want to judge.
